Near-Death Experience Reinforces the Need to Give
Adrian Stern drove to California in his Ford Pinto after graduating from the University of Michigan. Today, many years later, he’s a partner at a prominent CPA firm, a real estate developer and a professor at USC law school. He believes the Valley is the land of opportunity and a wonderful place to raise his four daughters. Like many in our community, his first interaction with the medical center was on a fairly routine basis. His second daughter was born at the hospital.

“When you live in the Valley, you need to support the Valley.” Karl Boeckmann is firm in that belief and he does a lot to live up to his word. As vice president of Galpin Motors, and a Certified Public Accountant, his business acumen has served the San Fernando Valley well. Karl has been an active community member in Valley for more than fifty years. Receiving The Fernando Award in 2004, he has been connected to our medical center for decades, serving as a member of the Providence Tarzana Foundation Board of Governors since 2009.

Allison Clago is a real Valley girl, who grew up in a time before shopping malls became the icon that redefined growing up in L.A.’s biggest suburb. Pam Kessler: Sixteen years ago, the wonderful doctors, nurses and caregivers at Providence Tarzana Medical Center saved my son’s life.
It began the night before with a sick baby up all night crying. What changed and made this different and more alarming were the events the next day: inconsolable crying, blood in the diaper and a trip to the doctor that was inconclusive.
