Jeffrey Work, M.D., named 2023 Philanthropy Physician Champion

Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center interventional cardiologist, Jeffrey Work, M.D., was one of eight clinicians across the Providence South Division to be recognized with the 2023 Philanthropy Physician Champion Award. The award acknowledges physicians for their commitment to philanthropy and providing outstanding medical care.

Each Providence ministry nominated physicians from their respective organizations to be honored for their partnership with the foundation. “We are deeply privileged to celebrate Dr. Work,” says Matthew Rinnert, chief philanthropy officer. “He epitomizes the pinnacle of medical excellence and remains a pillar for our community’s health and philanthropy.”

A heartfelt commitment to cardiovascular excellence
Dr. Work, a Salt Lake City native, boasts an impressive educational and professional background. He completed his undergraduate education at Stanford University before attending Yale School of Medicine for his Doctor of Medicine degree and completing his internship and residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Dr. Work then pursued specialized cardiology training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

With a discerning eye for cardiac imaging and a heart aligned with the mission of Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center, Dr. Work envisions a paradigm of unparalleled cardiovascular care in the San Fernando Valley. “We have outstanding physicians trained in the full spectrum of interventions and treatments, and soon we’ll have the facilities to offer the latest advances,” he passionately asserts.

Beyond his professional roles, Dr. Work cherishes the serenity of fly fishing and the thrill of cycling. But more than that, he resonates with the community, emphasizing, “Our shared commitment and generosity will echo in the corridors of this institution for generations.”
