“When you live in the Valley, you need to support the Valley.” Karl Boeckmann is firm in that belief and he does a lot to live up to his word. As vice president of Galpin Motors, and a Certified Public Accountant, his business acumen has served the San Fernando Valley well. Karl has been an active community member in Valley for more than fifty years. Receiving The Fernando Award in 2004, he has been connected to our medical center for decades, serving as a member of the Providence Tarzana Foundation Board of Governors since 2009.

From broken bones to the birth of their children, and even a heart surgery, Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center has cared for many generations of the Kashani family, who have been residents of Tarzana for over 30 years. With decades of gratitude behind them, the family made a generous philanthropic gift of $1 million – the largest donation received by Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center to date.

Giving back to the community has always been a vital component of my life, and I’ve always been interested in healthcare. My daughter and son were born at Tarzana Medical Center when the hospital was fairly new.

Allison Clago is a real Valley girl, who grew up in a time before shopping malls became the icon that redefined growing up in L.A.’s biggest suburb. She worked her paper route in an era where adolescent boys tossed the local paper from canvas bags hung from their bicycle handlebars onto customers’ driveways.

It began the night before with a sick baby up all night crying. What changed and made this different and more alarming were the events the next day: inconsolable crying, blood in the diaper and a trip to the doctor that was inconclusive.

Peter Saphier and his wife Liliane were very careful. When the COVID-19 pandemic became a national crisis that would affect their Encino community, Peter and Liliane took every precaution.

Long before she became a patient there, Linda Wolfson had a great familiarity with Providence Tarzana Medical Center. Her family has lived in and around Tarzana for over 40 years.

Providence Tarzana Medical Center had long been the hospital of choice for Ira Handelman and his family. At one point, the caregivers at Tarzana had saved Ira’s life during a complicated medical challenge he faced.

When Ali North gave birth to her youngest child Haven, she was thrilled to be able to deliver her daughter at Providence Tarzana Medical Center.
