St. Joseph Hospital’s 2020 Golf Tournament Nets More Than $405,000 for St. Joseph Hospital’s Cardiovascular Program

Orange, California – St. Joseph Hospital hosted its annual Golf Tournament at the beautiful Pelican Hill Golf Club in Newport Coast on March 9, 2020. More than 300 golfers enjoyed a day that included two 18-courses of golf, driving range, putting contests, a variety of restaurant offerings, spirit and beer tastings, a reception, an awards dinner, raffle drawing opportunities and a ceremony celebrating this year’s Physician Honorees: David C. Pan, MD; Brian Kim, MD; Michael Y. Chan, MD; Warren D. Johnston, MD; Thomas C. Kim, MD; Brian C. Kolski, MD; Rasoul Mokabberi, MD; Aidan R. Raney, MD; Lawrence J. Santora, MD; Shalizeh Shokooh, MD; and Kelly J. Tucker, MD.

The event netted more than $405,000 in support of the St. Joseph Hospital’s Cardiovascular Program with the help of many sponsors, including Centaurus Financial, Inc. “What a great day, one of the best tournaments. The St. Joseph Hospital Foundation did a fantastic job, and provided a fun-filled day for golfers and their guests. Centaurus Financial, Inc. is proud to be the Title Sponsor again this year,” said Ron King, Chairman and CEO.

“We were so blessed to have such a beautiful day shared among friends, patients and sponsors,” said Joseph Conway, President of Diversified Investment Services, Inc. and co-chair of the tournament. “It was one of our most successful tournaments and thanks to all of the generous support, we raised much needed funds for St. Joseph Hospital’s nationally recognized Cardiovascular Program.”

“First class and by far one of the best tournaments,” said John Cebula, co-chair of the tournament. “All of the hard work and efforts truly showed and the outcome was record-setting results supporting the Cardiovascular Program, which is leading the way in Orange County.”

Heart and vascular disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in this country. Each year, more than 1 million people suffer heart attacks, 500,000 people die, and half of those die suddenly.

St. Joseph Hospital’s nationally-recognized Cardiovascular Program has continued to lead the way in diagnosing, preventing and treating cardiovascular conditions in Orange County. The Hospital is working to reduce those numbers here in Orange County through the purchase of ultra-modern imaging and diagnostic equipment including an interventional angiography system in the new Cardiac Catheterization Lab. The system will not only increase the speed and accuracy of diagnosis, but lead to treatments that minimize pain, risk and recovery time.
